Department Overview

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), was established in the year 2002. Nearly after two decades, it has grown into one of the major departments with a dedicated team of 50+ experienced and qualified faculty members demonstrating quality in teaching with an astonishing record of academic excellence and we uphold this reputation with confidence. The department offers Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering with an intake of 180 students. It also offers Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and in Software Engineering (SE) with an intake of 18 students and Doctor of Philosophy in thrust areas. The B.E CSE programme is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi and permanently affiliated to Anna University.

The Department of CSE is a centre of excellence providing in-depth technical knowledge and opportunities for innovation and research with up-to-date research facilities. The nature of Computer Science and Engineering has an endless cycle of innovation entrenched in it. Our focus is on increasing the standard of the teaching and learning to gain global importance in research and academics. Looking at the worldwide perspective the department has identified a few thrust areas for research and development: Cloud Computing, Big Data Analysis and Internet of Things (IoT).

In the view of providing high-quality learning and leading students towards research and innovation the Department of Computer Science & Engineering has already taken several initiatives such as Signing a MoU with Connected Computing and Media Processing Lab, South Korea were various student exchange program and faculty exchange program is carried out. Further, the department has signed a MoU with Andes Technologies,Taiwan were an IEEE conference was successfully organized on “Soft-Computing and Network Security” (ICSNS -2015), Feb. 25 – 27, 2015, at SNSCT, Coimbatore.  Our graduates have distinguished themselves in higher studies at the top Universities.

In addition, the department has various tie up with renowned industries and various research forums through which our students occupy positions of eminence in the computer industry. Our Alumni remain in constant touch with us and are contributing in the development of the department. Placements for our graduates are the best in the Institute. We educate tomorrow’s innovators, conduct cutting-edge research in the principle areas of the field, lead a broad range of multi-disciplinary initiatives that demonstrate the transformative power of computer science and computer engineering, and are widely recognized for our success in promoting diversity. DEPARTMENT FACILITIES

CLASSROOM FACILITIES

All the classrooms are spacious, well ventilated and equipped with WIFI facility, Newspaper stand and Glass Board. Besides all classroom are fitted with colour blinds to reduce the glare during ICT usage. Overhead Projector with UPS connection for uninterrupted power supply. One – third of classes are equipped with Smartboard for the enhanced learning experience. All the classroom also provided with Notice board which dispalys latest programs and other information related to particular class

CAD COMPUTER CENTER I LABORATORY

MULTIMEDIA LABORATORY

Thermal Laboratory provides lot of opportunity to the students to study different types of IC engine, boiler performance study and to do their innovative projects. The performance test, and heat balance test, can be carried in variety of IC engines like petrol/diesel fuelled with single and multi-cylinder engines with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic loading devices. The Variable Compression Ratio (VCR) Engine Test Setup (Kirolskar made) is used for conducting test. It uses Eddy Current Dynamometer for loading the engine. Engine tests were conducted using various blends of biodiesel with variable compression ratio. The modern digital gas analyzer and AVL smoke meter is available to do emission and smoke test.

COMPUTER CENTER V  LABORATORY

CAM Laboratory equipped with one cnc trainer lathe (two axis machine) and cnc milling machine with NX CAM Software.
students trained with both the machine and providing industrial exposure in production area.Throgh this laboratory,Students can get know the right way to handle all kinds of cnc machine.Faculty and students are also doing many research projects and published the paper through this laboratory. Received the fund of Rs 15 Lakhs to Modernize the CAM Laboratory through Flexible manufacturing System under AICTE MODROBS Scheme

COMPUTER CENTER IX  LABORATORY

All kinds of Tools, equipments and safety equipments for Plumbing, Welding, carpentry and sheet metal fabrication are avaliable in this lab. TIG and MIG welding equipments for highend appplications are also available. This labs mainly helps to develop prototypes, Karts for National Level competition and other working model demos can be created in this lab by students.

COMPUTER CENTER VI  LABORATORY

Fluid Power control lab is the part of a modular program of mechanical engineering. This lab covers all hydraulics and pneumatics applications that answer the needs of students at any educational level or specialization. The lab enables students to understand the fundamentals of properties of fluids.Fluid Power control laboratory including HYDROSIM & PNEUMOSIM Software , LabVIEW software and basic pneumatic kit.

COMPUTER CENTER VII  LABORATORY

This lab helps to give exposure about all kinds of machining process from all kinds of Lathe operations to drilling, gear Hobbing, gear Cutting, VMC , Sloting and grinding. The lab is also equipped with Surface Roughness tester to check the machined surface finish.

CLOUD LABORATORY

This Lab helps the students to understand and learn about different measurements techniques using gauges , Plugs and calipers. The key highlights includes Autocollimator, Profile Projectors are equiped to give practical exposures. In addition to this, all calipers are available in digital format to give exposure for students
