Engineering education programs must keep up with the pace of globalization and technological advancement. The department innovation cell helps the students to prepare themselves for the demand of changing workplace. The Design Thinking based curriculum addressing the five technologies and seven thrust areas is also the beginning to change to highlight the creative nature of engineering. The department also have highly experienced research faculty working on numerous research areas and are committed to discover and innovate.
Product development typically refers to all of the stages involved in bringing a product from concept or idea, through market release and beyond. In other words, product development incorporates a product’s entire journey, which includes
- Identifying a market need,
- Conceptualizing and designing the product,
- Building the product roadmap,
- Developing a minimum viable product,
- Releasing the MVP to users,
- Iterating based on user feedback.
Here we involve lot in bridging the gap between early-stage innovation, research output and new product development. We in EEE department implement the five stage design thinking concepts like empathize, define, Ideate, Prototype and Testing for various levels in product development.

An innovative instructor expands their power of observation their familiar metaphors grow stronger. The extension and exploration leads to more elaborations on their specialized areas. This makes it possible for them to extensively and exclusively publish their works as books. Their works are analyzed and organized to facilitate learning for students. In this regard our faculty have published 33 books.
A creative work is regarded as a specific form of property. Patent protects the ownership of the work. Our researchers seek patent protection to ensure the idea and technology involved in their research is not obvious to others working in the same field. We have 52 utility patents and design patents by our research community.

The scheme aims to promote excellence in research in higher education by supporting research programme of University and College teachers in various disciplines. The University Grants Commission provides support to permanent/regular working/retired teachers in the Universities and Colleges.
SNS College of Technology has a strong International presence across the world. The international Relations of SNS College of Technology with institutes and universities all over the world helps the students to explore diverse environments and various cultures across the globe. International Relations help the institute to connect students and faculty with peers across the entire planet. The international partner universities are spread in countries throughout the world – Europe, USA, Asia, Australia, Canada, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and South America. There are internships available all over the globe for the students to earn a stipend and get valuable work experience. These International programmes will provide the following benefits to students:

International Relations would help in the considerable increase in the presence of foreign students and faculty on the campus. Such presence would help in a student-friendly, diverse environment with faculty experienced in many major fields. Furthermore, there is an expected increase in International Relations with various universities around the world.
Industrial Lab Establishment
To bridge the gap between industry and institute, industrial sponsored labs are established in the department to adopt innovative teaching and learning process. These labs provide an opportunity for the faculty to train themselves in the advancement in technology and can also train the students to make them industry ready. The laboratories also provide skill based training for the students as per industrial requirement. These labs also provide consultancy and research opportunities for the faculty.
The growing graduates from educational institutions may play a key role in technology up-gradation and competitiveness of an industry. Therefore industry-institute interaction may approach the latest development and requirements of an industry. This interaction may be stronger by signing an MoU with an industry. It proceeds to establish incubation, R& D centre in the institute premises. The faculty/student may expose their talents in creating wonderful innovations. Collaboration and cooperation may promote effective usage of technical share.
Seminars provide latest information about the things which are happening in science and technology. Students cannot improve their knowledge from textbooks alone. They must be take part in various seminars on latest topics. The teachers should also take interest in conducting seminars for their students. A seminar may have several purposes or just one purpose. For instance, a seminar may be for the purpose of education, such as a lecture, where the participants engage in the discussion of an academic subject for the aim of gaining a better insight into the subject. In our department we call resource persons from various industries or even renowned academicians. Some time we conduct webinars. All the seminar sessions are well planned and go in a organized manner with standard protocols.
It has been SNS’s constant Endeavour to globally engage with renowned institutes of research and learning and to establish standards of excellence in academia and research. Towards this, our EEE department vision has been to develop and sustain international partners from the academic and industrial research community to cater to the high-quality students on our campus. The International Relations at SNS co-ordinates collaborative initiatives of the University and strives to enable the following:
- Develop bilateral programs facilitating the exchange of academic faculty in areas of research alignment.
- Co-ordinate research visits of graduate students to collaborating labs during their undergraduate programme.
- Implement the Semester Abroad program of the University to promote undergraduate mobility in frontier areas of research and technical education.
- Facilitate Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between SNS and internationally renowned institutes of excellence.
- Orient Faculty Sabbaticals and Faculty Abroad Programs.
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering have well established nine laboratories. It offers practical knowledge in various domains such as Electrical circuits & controls, Electrical machines, Power electronics & drives and Simulation domains. The students are allowed to do hands on training of all established electrical machines, power electronics and electric drives components worth Rs.54 lacs.
The benefit of organizing expert lectures to the students is to enhance their educational experience. Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering arranged various expert talk from academicians, industrialists and alumni where Students attended these lectures for current trends and challenges of the industry. Students are encouraged to attend and interact with various experts in engineering and allied fields. Most of these talks will be organized by Fortune companies.
Students and Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering department have participated and organized different types of events for improving their skills. Participating in events organized by other colleges will give the individual as well as an organizational presence at different forums. Also, they can improve relationships with the existing ones in the event.
EEE department has organized various seminars on research, Faculty development programme, National and International conference, Technical symposium and workshop. In addition to technical events, our students are interested in participating in sports events too.
